ATMOSPHERE AND LOCATION

What is Road America?
Road America is a 640-acre, world-class motorsports facility featuring a 4.048-mile permanent road course and a 1-mile supermoto/karting track. Since its first official race in September of 1955, it has been a favorite circuit of racers world-wide who relish the challenges of the undulating landscape and the high speed turns and curves. Fans return year after year to enjoy the park-like atmosphere, fantastic food and wheel-to-wheel competition by the world's fastest riders and drivers. 

Where is Road America? Directions
Located midway between Green Bay and Milwaukee in Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin (Sheboygan County). Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin is 15 miles west of the city of Sheboygan.

How many events take place at Road America?
Road America has track activity every day from April through October. In addition to public events, the facility is in use by various private clubs, organizations, and schools.

Can anyone attend club events?
Each club/organization determines whether the public will have access to the event and, if so, sets the admission fees. If you are intested in a Club Events, please contact the club directly using links on our 4-Mile Road Course Schedule.

 

TICKETS AND ADMISSION

When do the gates open for public events?
Gates open at 7 a.m. for the major public events. Not all gate entrances are open for each event. The Main Gate is open for every event. Gate 4 is open for motorhome and tent camping registration. (Participants and club events—use Gate 6.)

What are the ticket prices for children?
Children 12 and under are free of charge with a paying adult.
Anyone over the age of 12 is the same price as an adult.

What if it rains on or during race DAY?
Bring your rain gear! Road America races run rain or shine. No refunds are given.

What is the paddock?
The competition paddock is located on the inside of the track between Turns 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 13A and 14 (see track map). The paddock is where teams set up their equipment and work on their cars throughout the event. It is a great way to get an up-close look at the cars and take pictures. Vendors and concession stands are also located in the paddock. REMEMBER: When you are in the paddock that RACECARS have the RIGHT OF WAY!

Will my general admission ticket give me access to the paddock?
All tickets include access to the paddock and free general parking. Daily tickets, Supertickets, Season Pass tickets all provide the customer with access to the paddock and free general parking.

Do you have reserved seating?
Road America does NOT have reserved grandstand seating. Grandstands are located around the facility and are on a first-come, first-serve basis. There are benches built into the hillsides for seating or you can bring blankets or folding chairs and spectate from open grass areas around the facility.

Do you ever sell out of tickets?
Due to the size of our facility, we do NOT sell out of admission tickets.

Where do I pick up WILL CALL tickets?
Spectator WILL CALL ticket orders can be picked up at the Credential/Will Call booth located on the left hand side of Gate 3.

Where do I pick up credentials/tickets if I am a guest of a team or crew member?
Credentials/tickets for family and friends of team and crewmembers can be picked up at the Registration Building located inside Gate 6 (on the right-hand side, south of the three white storage buildings). Please verify Registration hours before arriving. If Registration is NOT open, you will NOT be allowed into the facility.

 

PARKING & SEATING

Is there a charge for parking?
General admission parking is FREE with the purchase of a ticket. Preferred Parking passes can be purchased for $25. The Preferred Parking Pass is a Thursday-Sunday designated parking area with easy walk-in access to the paddock.

Do you have reserved seating?

ACCESS AROUND THE FACILITY

Is there a tram service available on the grounds?
Free shuttle service is available throughout the facility on major public race weekends (scheduled days and times vary per event). The shuttle is handicap accessible.

Can I bring in my own golf car, ATV, dirt bike, etc.?
Spectators are NOT allowed to bring off-road vehicles onto the property. In other words, the vehicle needs to be street licensed in order to use it on our property. Bicycles or street-licensed mopeds are acceptable modes of transportation around the facility but are not allowed in the paddock. Roller skates, roller blades, scooters (motorized or nonmotorized), and personal golf cars are NOT allowed.

Do you rent golf cars?
Golf cars are rented on a weekend or event basis only. No daily rentals. Rates and availablity vary per event. Golf cars should be reserved in advance of the event either on-line at www.roadamerica.com/tickets or by contacting the Road America office at 1-800-365-7223. Reserve early...they sell out fast!

 

AMENITIES

Do you have camping at the track?
Road America does allow spectator tent or motorhome camping during the major public events. We recommend that you make advance reservations. You can make your reservations on-line or by contacting the Road America offices at 1-800-365-7223. See Camping for more information.

Can we bring our own food and beverages into the facility?

Carry-ins are allowed into the property.  We ask that you refrain from taking your own beverages / coolers into the concession stands and seating areas around the stands.  You can bring your own beverages, food, grills and coolers and have a picnic in the open grass areas or if you are camping on-site.  We ask that you do not bring glass into the property and that you dispose of charcoal in the properly labeled dispensers. Keep in mind that Road America is known for its great food at the 13 concession stands around the property.

 

Are pets allowed on the premises?
Pets are strongly discouraged. It is Road America's policy that should you absolutely need to bring your pet, it must be kept under the control of a leash or in your vehicle with adequate ventilation, food and water. Pets are NOT allowed unattended in the campground. You must pick up and dispose of waste left behind by your pet. Should the pet cause harm or become a disturbance to other spectators, it will be grounds for ejection from the park without a refund. Pets are NOT permitted in Paddock areas during spectator events.

Are there storage lockers available for rent?
Road America currently does NOT have storage lockers available.

Is there a local station that broadcasts the events?
Tune to 88.3 FM to get the action on your radio. Get lap-by-lap coverage from the RA track announcers.

Can I use my cell phone at Road America?
You can use your cell phone at RA, but keep in mind that service areas vary and access declines as the number of people attending an event increases. Do NOT rely on your cell phone if you need to relay or receive important information.

What dining, lodging and entertainment facilities are available in the area?

Are check cashing services available?
Road America does NOT provide check cashing services.

Are there ATM machines at RA?
During the major public events, there are two ATM machines available. One is located in the paddock near the permanent restrooms and the other at the Gear Box concession stand in the paddock.

What food concessions are available?
Road America has 13 concession stand located around the facility that serve a large variety of delicious foods.

What merchandise concessions are available?
Official Road America souvenirs, as well as other vendors, can be found in the paddock area of the facility during our major public events. The 4-Mile Merchant (RA's official merchandise shop) is open from April through October and yearround on-line.

Are alcoholic beverages available at Road America?
Beer and wine is available for purchase at our concession stands.

What handicap facilities are available?
Road America, Inc. seeks to provide reasonable accommodations for all qualified individuals with disabilities. Road America offers handicapped accessible restrooms, grandstand at the Start/Finish Line, and auxiliary parking passes to state-licensed handicapped individuals. FAN ACTIVITIES

ON-TRACK TOURING
Touring gives spectators the opportunity to drive their own street cars on the track for a fee. The cost varies by event and is per car / per day. Admission into the event is sold separately (12 and under is free with a paying adult). You may have passengers in the car — state laws apply (safety belts and child restraints required). Touring is offered during several public events. The amount of time that you will spend on the track and speeds vary. Touring is a controlled lapping session with a pace car leading and in the rear — no passing is allowed. You must participate in a technical inspection (proper air pressure in the tires, no leaking fluids, etc.) and drivers' safety meeting before the touring session. SUVs, vans, trucks, campers, buses, motorcycles, etc. are NOT allowed on the track. Space is limited to the first 200 cars per day and space sells out fast. We recommend making an advance reservation either on-line or by calling our offices at 1-800-365-7223. Touring is held rain or shine.

Salute to Cycles Parade
The Salute to Cycles parade gives spectators the opportunity to ride their own motorcycles on the track for a minimal fee. The parade is offered during our AMA event (See Ticket information.) The cost is per person/per day. The amount of time that you will spend on the track varies. The motorcycles have a lead motorcycle/pace car, as well as a pace car in the rear and is a controlled lapping session. You must participate in a drivers' safety meeting before the parade. Road America highly recommends the use of helmets, however, special riding equipment is not required. Cars, SUVs, vans, trucks, campers, buses, etc. are NOT allowed on the track. We recommend making an advance reservation either on-line or by calling our offices at 1-800-365-7223.

There are numerous vendors and displays throughout the facility. We also offer the Family Fun Zone, autograph sessions, action on the Blain's Farm & Fleet Motorplex...just to name a few.

EMERGENCIES

How do I contact someone at the race in the event of an emergency?
In the case of an emergency, please contact Security at 1-920-892-2663.

What facilities are available if I have a medical problem?
Mobile medical teams patrol the facility. If in need of medical assistance, contact a RA representative or concession stand employee so they can contact the Medical staff. There is a permanent medical unit located in the competition paddock.

What TO DO if my child and I become separated?
Contact a RA security representative and supply them with a description of the child, i.e., name, age, color of hair, clothes they are wearing, etc.

Is there a lost and found?
Yes, contact a RA security representative and they will direct you to the Security office which is located inside Gate 6. After an event, all lost and found items are transferred to the RA Administrative Office. Your inquiries should be directed to 1-800-365-7223 or email info@roadamerica.com.

 

WHAT TO BRING

What TO WEAR?
The terrain is grass, gravel, pavement, hilly...wear good walking shoes. Weather conditions change rapidly. Dress in layers, use sunscreen and bring your rain gear! Road America races run rain or shine. No refunds are given.

What is the address for shipping packages?
Always include the first and last name of the recipient and their company name. SAMPLE: Attn: John Smith / Team Racing, Road America, N7390 Hwy. 67, Plymouth, WI 53073.  Packages can be picked up at the Administrative Office (next to Gate 6) Monday through Friday between the hours of 8 a.m. and 5 p.m., Saturdays 8 a.m.-Noon. (See Security on Saturday after 12 noon or Sunday). There is a $5 fee per package at time of pick up.
