Cheese Capital Cup Featuring Racing America’s Trans Am Brings High-Horsepower Action to Road America June 26-28
ELKHART LAKE, Wis., – June 16, 2026 – Road America will keep the summer racing season rolling June 26-28 with the Cheese Capital Cup featuring Racing America’s Trans Am & International GT.
The weekend brings a full lineup of muscle, speed, history, and family fun to one of America’s most iconic road courses. Fans will see the Trans Am Series presented by Pirelli, International GT, and Formula Race Promotions take on Road America’s 4-mile, 14-turn circuit for three days of racing.
The Trans Am Series has been part of American motorsports since 1966. Over the years, some of the sport’s most respected names have competed under the Trans Am banner, including Mark Donohue, Tommy Kendall, Peter Gregg, Bob Tullius, and Wally Dallenbach Jr. Today, the series continues that tradition with powerful Mustangs, Camaros, Challengers, Corvettes, and other high-performance machines built for hard racing.
Trans Am racing is direct and intense. The races are 100 miles long and do not include mandatory pit stops for fuel, tires, or driver changes. That means every lap matters. It is driver versus driver from the green flag to the checkered flag.
Fans will also see International GT, a North American series featuring late-model Porsche and Ferrari race cars. Formula Race Promotions will add even more variety to the weekend with F1600, F2000, F1000, and Atlantic Championship Series competition.
The weekend also includes one of the most unique fan experiences of the season. On Friday evening, June 26, Trans Am race cars will leave Road America’s Gate 6 at 5:45 p.m. for the Cheese Capital Cup Concours in downtown Plymouth. The cars will travel under police escort and arrive at Stayer Park around 6 p.m. during the Plymouth Cheese Capital Festival.
Fans will be able to see the cars up close, meet drivers, take photos, and enjoy the atmosphere before the cars return to Road America at 8 p.m. It is a rare chance to experience race cars in the heart of the community before they return to the track for the rest of the weekend.
Road America will also offer fan amenities throughout the event, including concessions, the Paddock Shop, tram service, and the facility’s free 18-hole disc golf course. Camping is available on-site, with more than 1,000 campsites located throughout the property.
Children 16 and under receive free general admission at the gate with a paying adult. Students can also save $10 off the ticket price at the gate with a current-year student ID. Racing takes place rain or shine.
Tickets are available now at roadamerica.com or by calling 800-365-7223.
