Ferrari Challenge Returns to Road America as Special Public Event
ELKHART LAKE, Wis. – Aug. 3, 2026 – Road America will welcome the Ferrari Challenge Trofeo Pirelli North America on Sept. 12 and 13. This special addition to the 2026 event calendar is now open to the public, giving fans a rare opportunity to experience Ferrari racing and heritage up close.
Ferrari’s connection to Elkhart Lake reaches back to the
community’s earliest road races. In 1950, Jim Kimberly won the
feature race on the original public-road circuit in a Ferrari 166
MM. When the permanent Road America circuit opened in September
1955, Phil Hill drove a Ferrari 750 Monza to a photo-finish
victory in the track’s first feature race. Hill later won the
1961 Formula One World Championship for
Ferrari. 
The history continued in 1956, when Carroll Shelby won the
inaugural June Sprints in a Ferrari 121 LM. 
Through the decades, Ferrari race cars have remained part
of Road America’s story through major endurance races,
professional sports car competition, vintage events and club
racing.
Ferrari Challenge last appeared at Road America on Sept. 9 and 10, 2023. Its return in 2026 brings the championship back to the circuit for the first time in three years.
Now in its 33rd season, Ferrari Challenge is one of the world’s leading customer racing championships. Road America will host the penultimate round of the 2026 North American season, making every race and championship point important before the Finali Mondiali at Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya in November.
The weekend will also include Club Competizioni GT and Club Challenge, featuring additional Ferrari racing machinery. Open paddock access will give guests a closer look at the cars, drivers and teams throughout the event.
