Road America Recognizes 2026 WeatherTech Vintage Weekend Award Recipients

ELKHART LAKE, Wis. – July 24, 2026 – Road America has announced the recipients of the special awards from the 2026 WeatherTech Vintage Weekend with Brian Redman. The annual honors recognize the preparation, craftsmanship, leadership, sportsmanship, and paddock spirit that make vintage racing a lasting motorsport tradition.

Tim Roberts received the Clif Tufte Award. Selected by the president of Road America and the Competition Committee, the award honors a competitor who demonstrates exceptional preparation, professionalism, race craft, and a determined vintage racing spirit both on and off the track.  

Bill Bowdish earned the Scrutineers’ Choice Award for his No. 75 1971 Datsun 240Z in Group 8. Road America’s technical team selected the car for its craftsmanship, detail, and historical correctness. Greg Jacobs of Ignite Performance in Arvada, Colorado, meticulously built the car, reflecting a clear commitment to preserving historic automobiles. 

Jessica Johnk received the Excellence in Motorsport Leadership Award. Johnk competed in the No. 28 1989 BMW 325i in Group 8. Selected by the Women in Motorsports North America Elkhart Lake Chapter, the award recognizes performance, leadership, and contributions that strengthen the presence and influence of women in motorsport. 

Spectators selected Dennis Firestone and his All American Racers entry, a 1981 Eagle IndyCar, for the Paddock Spirit Award. Displayed during the All American Racers Reunion, the Eagle drew fans with its history and authentic presentation. Firestone, the 1980 CART Rookie of the Year, qualified the car 21st for the 1981 Indianapolis 500. The appearance also celebrated his more than 50 years of racing at Road America.

Together, the recipients represented the values at the heart of the WeatherTech Vintage Weekend: respect for racing history, careful preparation, spirited competition, and a welcoming connection with fans.
