ELKHART LAKE, Wis., – November 28, 2023 – In a heartwarming display of community strength, the American Cancer Society’s annual 4-mile Walk/Run event at Road America on November 4 saw an incredible fundraising feat, surpassing the $200,000 mark this year. For over four decades, this event has been a beacon of hope, bringing together thousands of participants and volunteers to raise an impressive total of $4.6 million in the fight against cancer.

Road America, the proud presenting sponsor, expresses deep gratitude for the overwhelming support from individuals who rallied on the track to make a difference. The event took on a poignant note as participants from Team Road America remembered the late Enrique Ramirez, a cherished friend and co-worker who bravely battled cancer until last August. Enrique’s spirit lives on in the collective effort to fundraise, with several years of dedicated contributions to the Cancer Walk/Run and other events.

This success not only celebrates the generosity of donors but also serves as a tribute to those touched by cancer. Road America remains committed to this cause, acknowledging its profound impact on individuals and families. The collective dedication of the community has turned a challenging year into a triumph of compassion and resilience. The 2024 ACS Walk / Run at Road America is scheduled for November 2, and interested participants are encouraged to sign up at https://runsignup.com/Race/Info/WI/Plymouth/RoadAmericaWalkRun
