Road America and Kunes RV Partner With Plymouth Dirt Track For Winged Sprint Car Event Before the NASCAR Cup Series Race

ELKHART LAKE, Wis., – April 14, 2022 – A special Thursday night winged sprint car doubleheader returns on June 30 as the Road America Challenge presented by Kunes RV at the Plymouth Dirt Track featuring the Bumper to Bumper IRA Outlaw Sprint Series kicks off the NASCAR Cup Kwik Trip 250 presented by JOCKEY Made in America weekend June 30-July 3. Located just five miles from Road America at Sheboygan County Fair Park, the 1/3-mile Plymouth Dirt Track will have shuttles to transport fans to-and-from Road America. Ticket prices for adults are only $25, and kids 7-11 years of age get in for $11. Fans are encouraged to buy tickets in advance as there is an increase to $30 at the gate. The pit gates open at 2 p.m., and the spectator gates open at 4:30 p.m. Qualifying begins at 6:30 p.m. and racing begins at 7 p.m. Advance ticket buyers will be able to pick up their tickets at WILL CALL on race day and the gate will open to advance ticket buyers prior to race day ticket buyers, so not only will advance tickets buyers have a seat, but the opportunity to pick their seat. The regional Bumper to Bumper IRA Outlaw Sprint Series will feature some of the best sprint car teams in the Midwest and along with NASCAR Cup series stars. Chase Briscoe, the Stewart / Haas #14 NASCAR Cup Series Ford driver, has again added his name to the entry list, and more drivers are expected to round out the list as the event draws closer. Briscoe picked up his first Cup Series win in 2022 at Phoenix Raceway, making history as the 200th Cup Series winner.

The Bumper to Bumper IRA Outlaw Sprint Series is widely known as one of the most respected regional series in the country, and last year’s winner, 10-time IRA Champ, Bill Balog, has also added his name to the roster to defend his title.  In addition to Balog,  IRA champions Jake Blackhurst, Scotty Neitzel, and Jeremy Schultz will also be aiming to add hardware from this prestigious event to their trophy case. In recent years NASCAR Cup stars Tony Stewart, Kasey Kahne, and Kyle Larson have all revisited their sprint car roots and raced to IRA Sprint Car Victory Lane, with Stewart and Larson both notching wins at Plymouth. An entire field of 900 horsepower Bumper to Bumper IRA winged outlaws is also expected. Plus, a significant entry list of PDTR/MSA 360 winged sprints will make up an incredible sprint car doubleheader evening.

Race day at Road America on July 3 will feature NASCAR Cup incredible wheel-to-wheel racing when the green flag drops for the Kwik Trip 250 presented by JOCKEY made in America. Fans will have the opportunity to watch NASCAR’s future stars such as Cole Custer, Tyler Reddick, Christopher Bell, Chase Briscoe, and Erik Jones battle it out with superstars such as Kyle Busch, Martin Truex Jr., and Chase Elliott, who won last season, on the storied 4-mile, 14-turn road circuit. Road America also wants to remind NASCAR fans that off-site parking will be FREE, and a shuttle will be available both to and from the track on race day, Sunday, July 3. Anyone expecting to park on the grounds should get their tickets and parking early as parking on race day (Sunday Only) will sell out.

The NASCAR schedule for the Road America weekend will feature the NASCAR Cup Series Kwik Trip 250 presented by JOCKEY Made in America on July 3, joined by the NASCAR XFINITY Series Henry 180 on July 2. The race schedule will also be bolstered by the Trans Am Series by Pirelli and the Mazda MX-5 Cup, which will host multiple races during the weekend.
