This nationally recognized course goes beyond standard driver’s education by placing teens in real-world driving scenarios within a safe, controlled, off-street environment.

For more than 12 years, West Bend Insurance Company, the Official Insurance Company of the Teen Driving Program, has proudly supported this initiative to help make Wisconsin roads safer. Through hands-on instruction, teens learn essential defensive driving techniques such as emergency braking, hazard recognition, and collision avoidance — skills designed to build confidence, responsibility, and safer driving habits.

FAQ’s 

  • Duration: One day course, 9am – 4pm (Please arrive 15 minutes early)
  • Vehicles: Sedan and SUV styled vehicles are provided by Road America.
  • Requirements: Learners permit or valid driver’s license.
  • Lunch Break: A 40-minute lunch break is provided during the day. Students can bring a bag lunch or order one of our chef selection boxed lunches in advance at checkout.
  • Driving Exercises: Participants will partake in intense car control drills behind the wheel with up to two other students and an instructor in the vehicle. Please consult your doctor if you have motion sickness or any other medical condition that may affect your experience.
  • Schedule: Classes are divided into three groups. Throughout the day, participants will spend approximately one-third of their time in classroom instruction and two-thirds participating in hands-on driving exercises.
  • Family Participation: Parents and family members are encouraged to sit in all classroom sessions and spectate driving exercises. Family members are allowed to drive their own vehicle to the exercise area to observe at no extra charge. If parents wish to be in the car with the student, they will have to purchase a seat in the class.
