“We are extremely appreciative of the time and expertise the Village of Elkhart Lake has made in this decision,” Road America President and General Manager Mike Kertscher said. We remain committed to the village, and we are also appreciative of the tremendous support from various local businesses as we move through 2021 and beyond.”

For those unaware, the Concours d’Elegance racecar parade on Friday night, July 16, will run from the track through Elkhart Lake to where the cars park along Lake Street from 6-8 p.m., is a can’t miss spectacle for enthusiasts of all ages. Led by a pace car and directed by the police from the track, the quiet village will be taken over by millions worth of vintage racing cars. While not as visceral as being at the track itself, the sound is unique in that you see the pinnacle of vintage motoring rumble through public roads. Crowds lean in and listen. Fans whistle and throw their arms in the air. Standing ten feet from a 1,000 hp big block Can-Am car, or the beyond mad 80’s Formula 1 turbo cars as they idle, shoot fire, and rev by you is a sensation that goes beyond hearing as the cars park the crowd filters through the street to stand inches away from legends like the Porsche 917, Ferrari 312, Shelby GT 350s, and on and on and on.

Saturday night, July 17, is the Sports Car Concours d’Elegance from 6-8 p.m. Brimming with rarity, the street fills again. Most of the cars are rare, fast, and only once in a lifetime, you’ll see it types of sportscar bravado. The access again is unprecedented. Seeing owners show little kids the race and sports cars is part of the fun. In short, events like this, having the young ones exposed to the cars, and the event’s sensations are critical to continuing the heritage of vintage racing.

Widely known as one of the largest vintage racecar gatherings in the United States, featuring several racing classes in multiple groups, the WeatherTech International Challenge with Brian Redman July 15-18 will feature historic NASCAR Grand National Cars. Watch them run, join the excitement and meet the team members, making the 2021 event a can’t miss spectacle for any racing and NASCAR enthusiast.
