Road America to Host SCCA National Championship Runoffs October 3-5
ELKHART LAKE, Wis., – September 23, 2025 – Road America will once again take center stage in American motorsports next week as the Sports Car Club of America® (SCCA) National Championship Runoffs® returns October 3-5. Nearly 400 competitors from across the nation are expected to participate, bringing the largest amateur road-racing event in the world to the storied 4.048-mile, 14-turn circuit.
The Runoffs stand as the defining event in U.S. amateur road racing. With 23 national championship titles on the line, the event has long been a proving ground for drivers whose careers range from club racing to professional motorsports. Past champions include Skip Barber, Paul Newman, Bobby Rahal, Graham Rahal, Roger Penske, and Jimmy Vasser, underscoring the event’s significance as a launchpad for racing legends.
This year’s competition will feature a diverse lineup of cars, including classic American muscle such as Corvettes and Mustangs, open-wheel formula cars, historic Triumphs and Austin Healeys, and imports from Toyota, Mazda, and BMW. Fans will have the rare opportunity to witness local racers competing against some of the nation’s top talent on a course that combines technical precision with high-speed straights and dramatic elevation changes.
In addition to the on-track action, spectators will notice several new facility enhancements designed to improve accessibility, safety, and viewing experiences. Upgrades include a multi-use pedestrian and golf cart bridge over the front straight, resurfacing and drainage improvements in the North Paddock, expanded viewing at Turn 12, and artistic carvings throughout the grounds.
The Runoffs remain a family-friendly event. Ticket prices vary by day, and children 16 and under receive free general admission with a paying adult at the gate. Racing runs rain or shine.
