Media Credentials

The Road America Communications Department is dedicated to providing members of the media with the best service and information necessary for optimal coverage of track events. This information is intended to assist you in planning your coverage of Road America events and will help ensure a positive track experience.

Media credentials will be issued only to recognized daily newspapers, news services, television and radio networks, racing publications, and other outlets that regularly cover motorsports.

Requests must be submitted via the online request application forms by the editor, sports editor, sports director or sports producer. Credentials will be issued to the authorized personnel only for the purpose of providing timely coverage of the event. Freelance journalists and photographers must be on assignment and included in the request submitted by the news agency's editor.

Working media credentials will not be issued for employees in marketing, promotions, sales, advertising, etc.

All applications will be carefully reviewed by Road America and the applicable event sanctioning body (NASCAR, INDYCAR, IMSA) with regards to broadcast (radio & television) licensing and agreements that will be in place for each event. Efforts will be made to honor all requests, but the track and sanctioning body reserve the right to change or deny any media requests. Misuse of credentials may result in revocation and/or fine. All credential holders must sign the Road America Media waiver and agree to the terms and conditions with a Road America staff member present. In person, you must be at least 18 years of age to receive a credential.

HOLDERS OF ANNUAL HARD CARDS

Team PR representatives or journalists who possess an Annual Hard Card issued by the respective sanctioning bodies should also fill out the online request application forms  to reserve media center access and parking. All access and parking passes will be held for pick-up at the credential office at Gate 3. Road America does not mail credentials.

MEDIA ACCESS AT ROAD AMERICA

Working media credentials provide access to the VIP media center, Victory Lane, and garage/paddock areas.

Photographers with a Road America Wristband and a Photo Vest provided by Road America Communications or the (sanctioning body) will have access beyond the spectator fencing. This access is determined on a case-by-case basis depending on the nature of coverage by a particular media outlet and is not guaranteed for every request. Photographers will receive guidelines and instructions during regular photo meetings regarding access.

Photographers are reminded that photographers meetings are mandatory and failure to appear at one of the non-race day or race day meetings will result in revocation of credentials or non-issuance of a photo vest at the discretion of Road America. Failure to adhere to working policies and regulations detailed at meetings may result in loss of credentials and or revocation of rights. Photos and video cannot be used for commercial or retail purposes without the express written permission by the visiting series and/or Road America. Commercial exploitation of any Road America event and/or its participants is strictly prohibited without prior consent. A list of clients and license agreement of usage must be filed, and a fee may be assessed.

Once approved: media credentials and parking passes can be picked up at the Credential Registration office located at Gate 3 off of County Road J. A Government Issued Photo ID is required to retrieve credentials and media members cannot retrieve another individual's credential. Do not come to the media center to retrieve credentials. Credential Registration hours are 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. during event weekends.

Golf Carts: Road America is a large facility and any media, team reps or photographers requiring golf carts must rent them in advance from Road America, privately owned golf carts are not permitted.
