Media Credentials

The Road America Communications Department is dedicated to providing members of the media with the best service and information necessary for optimal coverage of track events. This information is intended to assist you in planning your coverage of Road America events and will help ensure a positive track experience.

Media credentials will be issued only to recognized daily newspapers, news services, television and radio networks, racing publications, and other outlets that regularly cover motorsports.

Requests must be submitted via the online request forms by the editor, sports editor, sports director or sports producer. Credentials will be issued to the authorized personnel only for the purpose of providing timely coverage of the event. Freelance journalists and photographers must be on assignment and included in the request submitted by the news agency's editor.

Working media credentials will not be issued for employees in marketing, promotions, sales, advertising, public relations, etc.
All applications will be carefully reviewed by Road America and the applicable event sanctioning body (NASCAR, INDYCAR, IMSA) with regards to broadcast (radio & television) licensing and agreements that will be in place for each event. Efforts will be made to honor all requests, but the track and sanctioning body reserve the right to change or deny any media requests.

Team PR representatives or journalists who possess an Annual Hard Card issued by the respective sanctioning bodies should also fill out the online request forms  to reserve media center access and parking. All access and parking passes will be held for pick-up at the credential office at Gate 3.

Working media credentials provide access to the VIP media center, Victory Lane, and garage/paddock areas.

Photographers with a Road America Wristband and a Photo Vest provided by Road America Communications will have access beyond the spectator fencing. This access is determined on a case-by-case basis depending on the nature of coverage by a particular media outlet and is not guaranteed for every request. Photographers will receive guidelines and instructions during regular photo meetings regarding access.

Photographers are reminded that photographers meetings are mandatory and failure to appear at one of the non-race day or race day meetings will result in revocation of credentials or non-issuance of a photo vest at the discretion of Road America. Failure to adhere to working policies and regulations detailed at meetings may result in loss of credentials and or a revocation of rights. Photos and video cannot be used for commercial or retail purposes without the express written permission by the visiting series and/or Road America.
