Road America Mourns the Loss of Official Historian Tom Schultz

ELKHART LAKE, Wis., – April 3, 2023 – Road America is deeply saddened by the passing of Tom Schultz, the Official Track Historian, leaving behind a legacy that will forever be remembered.

Schultz served in the United States Army and National Guard in the late 60s and early 70s, where he reached the rank of Captain. After a combined service of eight years, Schultz dedicated his life to community service and became a respected member of the Wauwatosa community.

Road America Partners With Plymouth Dirt Track for Winged Sprint Car Event Before the NASCAR XFINITY Series Race

ELKHART LAKE, Wis., – March 23, 2023 – A special Friday night winged sprint car doubleheader returns on July 28 as the Road America Challenge returns to the Plymouth Dirt Track featuring the Bumper to Bumper IRA Outlaw Sprint Series to kick off the NASCAR XFINITY Series weekend July 27-29. Located just five miles from Road America at Sheboygan County Fair Park, the 1/3-mile Plymouth Dirt Track will have shuttles to transport fans to-and-from Road America. Adult ticket prices are only $30, and kids 7-11 get in for $11.

Former Road America President and General Manager Jim Haynes Passes Away

ELKHART LAKE, Wis., – March 3, 2023 – Former Road America President and General Manager Jim Haynes passed away on March 2nd in Tampa, Florida.

“Everyone is deeply saddened to hear of Jim’s passing. Road America to host the 2024 and 2025 SCCA National Championship Runoffs

Christina Laun Fugate Appointed to the Board Of Directors for Road America

ELKHART LAKE, Wis., – September 22, 2022 – Elkhart Lake’s Road America Inc. recently announced the addition of Christina Laun Fugate to its Board of Directors. Fugate is a partner at Ice Miller LLP in Indianapolis. She chairs Ice Miller’s Franchise and Distribution team and is a seasoned commercial litigator. Fugate’s appointment comes in succession to a vacated seat held by longstanding board member Chris Hartwig, who passed away earlier this year.

Since joining the grid in 2019, Pfaff Motorsports’ record at the fan-favorite racetrack is undefeated. The team scored its second WeatherTech Championship victory at Road America in 2019, and while not competing in 2020 due to the coronavirus pandemic, Pfaff returned to claim the checkered flag once again in 2021.
