Road America Announces 2022 Season Schedule

Event Tickets Will Be Available Oct. 4 and Camping Oct. 11

ELKHART LAKE, Wis., – Sept. 29, 2021 – Road America announced its 2022 season schedule today, including stops for every major North American race series. Nine events are on the 2022 season schedule for Road America, and you won’t want to miss a minute of the action.



ELKHART LAKE, Wis., – Sept. 15, 2021 – Kwik Trip, a La-Crosse, Wisconsin-based convenience store chain, has switched places with the 2021 title sponsor, Jockey, for the NASCAR Cup Series race at Road America in 2022. Next year’s race will be known as the Kwik Trip 250 presented by Jockey Made in America. Official start times and broadcast details are yet to be determined but will be released later and the race date is Sunday, July 3, over the Fourth of July holiday weekend.


Vintage Racers Gather at Road America for the Ariens Art On Wheels Weekend September 17-19

ELKHART LAKE, Wis., – Sept. 14, 2021 – Vintage racers from across the U.S. will take to the track September 17-19 as Road America hosts the Ariens Art on Wheels Weekend featuring VSCDA. The annual celebration of vintage and historic sports cars attracts over 280 cars to the famed 4-mile, 14-turn road course. The fan-friendly paddock is open to spectators for close-up views of amazing racing machines prepared to era specifications all weekend. 


Road America Announces Featured Marque for the WeatherTech International Challenge With Brian Redman

ELKHART LAKE, Wis., – Sept. 7, 2021 – Road America recently announced that the AAR Eagle would be the featured marque of the 2022 WeatherTech International Challenge with Brian Redman. Widely known as one of the largest vintage racecar gatherings in the United States, featuring over 50 classes of cars racing in several groups, The WeatherTech International Challenge with Brian Redman will return on July 14-17, 2022.


Racine’s Jacob Ruud Brings Perfect Season Record to Home Track for SRO GT World Challenge America this Weekend.

ELKHART LAKE, Wis., – August 24, 2021 – It’s been a perfect season so far for young Jacob Ruud of Racine, Wis., during the debut of the TCX racing division in the TC America competition, a portion of the big SRO World Challange America road racing weekends. 

Driving the No. 81 Light Speed/Classic BMW BMW M2 for Fast Track Racing this year, Ruud, the 21-year-old college student, has won six main events in six starts in the TCX division including six pole positions and five fastest race laps.

Historic Elkhart Lake Road Course To Remain on Calendar in Multiyear Agreement

ELKHART LAKE, Wis., - July 6, 2021 – INDYCAR and Road America announced today a new, multiyear extension designed to keep the NTT INDYCAR SERIES racing at the legendary 4.014-mile permanent road course for years to come.

The series began racing at the picturesque layout in 1982. After a brief hiatus, the NTT INDYCAR SERIES returned in 2016 to packed grandstands and campgrounds. This year marked the sixth consecutive year Road America has hosted North America’s premier open-wheel series.

Chase Briscoe Hopes to Capture a NASCAR Cup Victory at Road America.

ELKHART LAKE, Wis., - June 22, 2021 – Chase Briscoe is a rookie in the NASCAR Cup Series this season, but he’ll arrive at Road America with a decent amount of experience at the 4.048-mile permanent road course.

Drivers in the top-tier Cup level will run at the Elkhart Lake track for the first time in 65 years in the Jockey Made in America 250 presented by Kwik Trip on July 4. The stop at Road America is one of several events on the Cup circuit that will have practice and qualifying.


Scott Dixon Seeks His Third Road America Win in the NTT INDYCAR REV Group Grand Prix Presented by American Medical Response

ELKHART LAKE, Wis., - June 8, 2021 – Scott Dixon seeks his third Road America win in the REV Group Grand Prix Presented by American Medical Response on June 20 in Elkhart Lake but admits his memorable race moment at the 4.048-mile permanent road course wasn’t a victory.

Dixon was a CART Series rookie driving for PacWest Racing in 2001 when the New Zealander competed in his first event at the track. 

A spirited battle between Dixon and Michael Andretti a couple of decades ago is the most vivid memory for the rookie of the year candidate.



Sponsorship to begin in 2022; reinforces commitment to the Milwaukee and kart racing communities

ELKHART LAKE, Wis., - June 7, 2021 – Briggs & Stratton today announces a long-term agreement with Road America earning Briggs & Stratton title rights to its renowned Motorplex, a world-class, multi-use, multi-configuration one-mile track used by the Road America Karting Club and the Road America Supermoto School. Local Resident Has Her Sights Set On a Strong Showing at the WeatherTech® Chicago Region SCCA June Sprints® at Road America.

ELKHART LAKE, Wis., – May 25, 2021 - Julie Dahmer treks many miles in her gig, driving big brown trucks for UPS.

Dahmer, a Sheboygan resident, has worked for the company for 23 years.

While driving is a full-time job, racing has become a part-time hobby for Dahmer, who begins her fourth season racing a Mazda Miata in the Spec Miata division at Road America. She’ll run in the WeatherTech Chicago Region SCCA June Sprints the weekend of June 4-6.

Thursday evening, July 1, the regional Bumper To Bumper IRA Outlaw Sprint Series will headline an all sprint car show on the 1/3 mile Plymouth Dirt Track located at Sheboygan County Fair Park, just five miles from Road America.

The Village of Elkhart Lake and its board ruled in favor recently to allow the racecar parade and concours and the sportscar concours to return due to the events’ outdoor nature.
